Here we are. Final week for your team to take a hit due to bye week. How well did you navigate through them? Are you riding a hot streak or are you out of playoff contention already? Teams on bye are Colts, Panthers, Jets and 49ers. There’s not many fantasy relevant players, but there are a few. Cam Newton, Devin Funchess, Christian McCaffery, TY Hilton and Robby Anderson. Here are my waiver wire pickups this week:
Ryan Fitzpatrick- He was on my list last week, but didn’t put a lot against a Jets defense. This week he’s going up against Miami. Miami gave up 46 fantasy points to Cam Newton last week. Fitz isn’t the runner that Cam is, but can still sling the ball. Mike Evans comes back this week so he should have a better week than last week.
Jay Cutler- I can’t believe it either. I can’t believe I’m giving advice to pick up Jay Cutler. He’s at home against Tampas defense. I don’t see this game as a defensive juggernaut so one area has to score. With the byes and also Tyrod Taylor being benched, it’s scraping the bottom of the barrel if you didn’t plan well.
Jamaal Williams- Ty Montgomery is banged up. Aaron Jones is out for a few weeks. So who’s next? Jamaal Williams. He looked good in relief. It’s hard to do when you aren’t expecting to see the field to all of a sudden get 20 carries. Last time Ty was banged up, Aaron Jones was given the game plan and going off. I don’t see this as the same situation, but he can help with any injuries you’re dealing with on your team.
Rex Burkhead- He’s a bit of a wild card here. Patriots are banged up at the WR position and I don’t see Hogan playing this week. Burkhead is more of a receiving back that they have lined up out at receiver even with James White on the field. Tom Brady trusts Burkhead which goes a long way to help out your team.
Corey Davis- Everybody had high expectations coming into the year. Davis went down with an injury and has been slowing making his way back. Him and Mariota are starting to click, which means he’s bound to have a break out game.
Josh Doctson- I’ve had him on my list for a couple weeks now so if you haven’t picked him up yet: What are you doing? You can forget about Terrelle Pryor. Doctson was on the field for 69 snaps last week. It was against the Vikings defense so there wasn’t high expectations last week.
CJ Fiedorowicz- Making his second start since returning from injury, CJ should see more of the field this week. Savage is still starting (as of this writing) so he needs a safety valve. Houston is notoriously known to utilize their tight ends. He already was 3rd on the team in targets last week. Expect that to continue or even increase.
That’s it for week 11! Let me know who you’re targeting this week.
