It’s that time of year! There are some leagues that start their playoffs this week while others have their last week of regular season. I’m going to share my “Streamer” options to help you this week. There’s only a couple weeks left so it becomes a week to week season. With some tough matchups, the streamer options will give you an alternative option. So let’s get into the fantasy pickups:
Blaine Gabbert- He’s not a fancy option, but he’s an option that has been quietly been putting together good games. They play Tennessee at home. The Titans are 20th against opposing quarterbacks. It’s an intriguing matchup where I think the Cardinals need to throw more often than not. He’s an option if you don’t want to start Drew Brees on a short week or an option if Stafford doesn’t play. Cam plays Vikings, Russell plays Jaguars and Cousins plays in LA against the Chargers.
Mike Davis- Last game, Davis carried the ball 16 times to go along with 4 receptions. That’s 20 touches against the #1 team in the NFC, at the time. He solidified himself as the top running back with the amount of work. This week is a tough matchup given they are playing the Jaguars, but he could be helpful in the fantasy playoffs. The reason I like him is he can contribute to the ground game as well as the receiving game.
Marquise Goodwin- Before last week, Goodwin was averaging just over 2 catches per game. The most receptions he had were 5 in one game. Jimmy takes over and Goodwin almost doubles his highest reception total with 8. They play Houston this week who are 24th against wide receivers. That gives him a favorable matchup with Garoppolo getting his second start. If Jimmy is still out there, pick both up and let it ride given their chemistry.
Dwayne Allen- I know, I know. He hasn’t had the type of season we expected him to have after being traded to New England. Listen though. Gronkowski is out due to his suspension and Martellus Bennett is out for the year on IR. Tom Brady likes his TEs and I believe he will have his biggest game this week against Miami. Miami is 29th against opposing TEs so there’s a favorable matchup this week. He’ll get the bulk of the snaps with Jacob Hollister coming in for a couple of the plays.
Here’s a bonus for defense/special teams:
New England- Play Miami with Cutler as their QB. Miami is 29th ranked offense.
Jets- Play Denver with Siemian as their QB. Denver is rated the worst offense in the league.
