Week 15 Fantasy

Some of you may have had the first round of playoffs last week and others start this week. This edition will obviously be for those of you that are still in the thick of things. I’m starting playoffs in two of my leagues this week with one not starting until week 16.

It’s getting down to nitty gritty as far as waiver pick ups, but here are some thoughts on who I have on top of my list.

QB

Aaron Rodgers- It may seem weird, but there are those who needed a roster spot that dropped Rodgers after he went down. He was medically cleared to play, but no official word as to whether or not he’s starting. My guess is he will be otherwise they wouldn’t have cleared him to come back. He does have tough match ups on the horizon, but I believe he’s been itching to come back. It’s a bad time to be Panthers secondary. Pick him up, if available, and roll to the promised land of fantasy glory.

Nick Foles- Throwing him out here just in case Rodgers isn’t out there for you. Carson Wentz went down and everyone freaked out. Well, I’m here to tell you otherwise. Remember last time Foles was a starter for Philly? He threw for 27 TDs while only throwing 2 INTs. He has had rough starts since, but he was playing for Jeff Fischer. Not the best QB coach (i.e. Case Keenum and Jared Goff). There will be drop off between Wentz and Foles, but I wouldn’t expect much of one.

RB

Wayne Gallman- Giants are in evaluation mode with the last 4 weeks of the season. Gallman touched the ball 19 times rushing for 59 while adding 40 more yards receiving.  They do have a tough contest with Philly this week, but given he had 7 receptions bodes well for PPR fantasy value.

WR

Dede Westbrook- Quietly emerging as Blake Bortles’s favorite target. Over the last 3 weeks, he’s averaging about 6 receptions for 67 yards. He found the endzone last week for the first time so that gives him an average of about 14 points per game. Houston is banged up and just gave up over a 100 yards to Goodwin last week. I like the usage enough to roster Westbrook especially as a flex option.

TE

Trey Burton- He only comes into play if Zach Ertz sits again. Ertz is dealing with a concussion, which isn’t his first in his career. Not sure how much time he will miss, but if you have Ertz, then Burton needs to be in your lineup or at least on your roster. He went 5 catches for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns last week in Ertz’s absence. It also seemed that it didn’t affect him when Wentz went down. Foles may play it safe and need an outlet to get him going. Fire up Burton (if Ertz misses another game).

There’s my top waiver pick ups for week 15 playoff edition. Hope it helps make some touch decisions. Good luck this week!
