Day 7: Ketogenic Diet

Day 7

First week is in the books. I wanted to start off by saying it’s been a pretty great week. The only issue that I’ve been having is making sure that I keep getting my macro intakes to the levels it should be. I downloaded an app that I keep track of my food intake to make sure I’m staying on top of everything. The other issue is finding meals to cook for dinner as well as what I can eat for snacks. Anyways, let’s get into the updates.

Weight: 188.6 down 7 lbs

Sleep: It’s been a great week of sleep. I’m not waking up as much throughout the night. I wake up feeling refreshed.

Training: I start with a 15 minute warm up on the treadmill. Going between a 8:30 mile speed to a fast paced walk. Then, I use the BodySpace app as far as what training regime, which usually take 45 minutes. After that, I do a 15 min ab routine. I mix it up everyday so I’m not doing the same movements everyday. Lastly, I end on the elliptical for 15 minutes.

Food Intake: Breakfast I eat a 3 egg omelette with a whole avocado topped with some hot sauce (hot sauce is the savior). Lunch I’ve been making a spinach salad with some kale mixed in there for greens. I top it with egg, cheese, peas, broccoli, cucumber, mushrooms and ranch dressing. Dinner has been the true test, for me. The first couple nights I made chorizo sausage with creamed cabbage. I also had a grilled chicken salad. I haven’t had any snacks throughout the day. Usually, if I get hungry I just drink water or I go get a cup of black coffee.

Overall Feel: I feel great. It’s probably been the best I’ve felt overall in quite some time. I have more energy throughout the day. Also, it’s been easier to wake up to get to the gym. I have really no complaints other than I miss pizza. Can’t wait to eat pizza, again.

I wanted to conclude that this has been a great experience so far. In the past, it’s been hard to stay strict on a diet plan because there’s a lot of chances to cheat. No one’s really going to know so that’s why it was easier.  I took pictures from before I started as well as this morning. At the end, I will post the pictures to show the transformation at the end of the month. I’m almost at my goal for the weight loss so I’m changing it to 182 lbs by the end of the month.
